Object Description |
Calfskin head bag with fur attached and decorated with glass beads. Eye shape is beaded using white, dark blue and gold beads. Ears are stitched with light blue, pink and gold beads with two metal capped and horse hair dangles. Nose is stitched with red beads. Mouth is stitched with alternating red and white vertical beads and dark blue vertical beads in the center. Four metal and horse hair dangles on mouth portion. Upper portion of bag is beaded as well with white horizontal areas that contain red, dark blue and white diagonal beading. In the center are green angular patterns with dark blue and red at the points and a dark blue and white stripe in the center. Red and light blue horizontal beading separates another large area of beading that entails white and blue horizontal striping with blue and yellow triangles. Blue and white squares form a lightning-type pattern across the center of the area. Yellow squares and empty space create the background for this area. Neck area has many red-dyed horsehair and metal dangles. Handle is decorated with white background beading, blue geometric patterns and horsehair and metal dangles. There are leather ties on the opening of the bag. |
