Object Description |
Framed assemblage of twenty-two lapel pins. Frame is wooden with straight sides, inner gold border around glass. Pins are attached to red felt backing. Pins are from various curling clubs across the United States. They are arranged into six rows. Starting in the top left, row 1: USWCA All-American Event, 1980-1981; USWCA; Hershey. Row 2: Brae Burn, 1955; HCC Hershey Country Club, 10; Chicago Curling Club. Row 3: Philadelphia Curling Club; USWCA Scottish U.S.A. Tour, 1981; RC CC, Scottish Ladies Visit To America, 1981; Philadelphia Bells, 1965. Row 4: Plainfield, 1963; Men's Cl. Champion, 1974; Lomond C.C. Ladies. Row 5: Nashua CC; Winchester County Club, 1902; Wellesley C.C., 1957; Nutmeg Curling Club, 1960. Row 6: Ladies Cl. Champ, 1977; A.L.C; Weston Curling Club; Weston Curling Club; Winchester County Club. Pins are enamelled metal with safety pin style closures. Pins have various shapes and pictures. Some are shaped like the United States, others are round or oval, Kiss-shaped; one is shaped like a broom, another is shaped like a bird, and one like a bell. Most feature images of curling brooms and stones. Back of frame is plain. Several nails or staples hold the frame backing in place. |
